We are excited to announce Meghan Shannon as our Conservative Candidate for Waterloo!
Meghan attended the University of Guelph where she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography. Her interests in the environment, community and economic development brought her to the University of Waterloo where she earned a Master’s of Environmental Studies in tourism policy and planning and then a Ph.D in Geography, with a focus on local economic development.
Meghan has been an active member of our community, including through her advocacy for those experiencing mental health issues, addictions and homelessness. Initially involved as a volunteer, Meghan later managed a non-profit organization in Waterloo Region that serves the needs of at-risk youth.
More recently, Meghan’s work in public policy at the provincial level focuses on various issues related to northern development, energy, and indigenous affairs.
Outside of work, Meghan enjoys playing tennis, refinishing used furniture and antiques, shopping at local markets and farms, and visiting the beautiful parks in our area.
Meghan wants to serve as our next Member of Parliament because the people of this community deserve strong, accountable leadership. She will fight for the issues that matter most to you, and reinforce the values of personal responsibility, commitment to community and responsible government.
